Blazblue

Post by Rhyo »

wow i just got this game and i gotta say its kinda cool w/ all the cute characters and stuff but i dont like how the game plays.......like at all..........first off.......u gotta press up on the control pad to jump seriously wtf is up with that and sometimes when i want 2 do a command like tazer's grab attaks i jump on accident and its REALLY irritating. second off u dont have a desinated guard button, you have to push back on the pad to block someone's attack and sometimes it doesn't even work you just go forward when you mean 2 block and if u want to block and walk at the same time ur fresh out of luck because you cant......anyway what do you guys think of this game i mean i really like the characters and stuff but i cant get through the compeling story mode because the game controls like shit

Sounds like you're not used to 2D fighters. Quite a few utilize up for jump, down for crouch, back for block. Sorry to disagree, but it also sounds like you just need to play the game more and get better at utilizing the control scheme. =P You'll get it though, it's actually remarkably easier than its founder (Guilty Gear series) in ways.

Blazblue is up there on the list of best fighters I've ever played.
And fighters are pretty much all I play anymore...
If you don't count the long hours of Disgaea 3,
soon to be FFXIII, Kingdom Hearts 3,
and Star Ocean 4 when it's released for ps3 finally.
I also play lots of Guilty Gear Accent Core+ and #Reload.
Then I've got Touhou 12.5 next on the list.

Anyways, the control scheme is the easiest thing on the face of the planet to understand.
If you're moving forward while blocking there's something wrong.
Either way, you can press A+B at the same time for a better but limited shield.

If you absolutely HAVE to use Tager's 360 and 720 moves,
learn how to buffer those moves so you don't make
those mistakes of jumping in the middle of the button input.
You can input the directions in the middle of a jump you're already performing,
during a tech roll after being knocked to the ground,
during what is called an "Instant Block" if you're fast enough,
and even during another move; typically during a standing D or after a Spark Bolt.

I for one play as Carl, the hardest character in the game to learn and master in my opinion.
I'm not amazing with him yet, but that's what I have Nu for.
In which case I'm actually the best player in the state of Texas.

PSN is Phaiyte.
Anyone can add me if they want a few rounds.

Pull the trigger and the nightmare stops.

To be the hero is all I'll ask.
