Upcoming Server Move

Post by Koma »

Considering we've had a lot of responses about lag spikes to some players being unable to even play, we are going to try to deal with this issue as soon as possible. We are moving to another host which will hopefully resolve the issues most are experiencing, and also upgrading the hardware since it is a small extra fee. This new host is the trusted host of our old server, so we're hoping that there are no issues.

Just so we're clear before I continue though, THERE WILL BE NO ROLLBACK. It is simply a server downtime and move which *should* take less than an hour since we'll get the majority of the work done before we even bring the server down. This should happen either today or tomorrow as we have yet to receive a confirmed schedule from the datacenter.

On another note, Registration will be temporarily down during this period as will a number of the main website's functions. The forums will remain up throughout this period. So please get your registrations in before the move otherwise, you may have to wait up to half a day.

Thanks for understanding and Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

As just announced in-game, this move will take place at 13:00 (@time) / an hour and a half from this post.

We will be down for about 30 minutes to perform this migration. It could take less than that amount, but to save our behinds, we're going to say it'll take that amount. Again, there will be no rollback.

Please remember to use your patcher to receive any new updates. As we will be changing server addresses, it is essential that this be done. It may take time for the new server address to be reflected for some users, but please give it time as well.

The server is now up and running. There should have been no hiccups.

It may take some time for the new server to be reflected on various ISPs. It may take 5 minutes. It may take hours. A router reset may help. Sometimes, an "ipconfig /flushdns" may fix the issue via a Command Prompt "Start -> Run -> "cmd"". The remainder of the delay is entirely related to the ISPs though, as the server is running on its new hardware and can be accessed via the main page's Control Panel even.

For the record, Kiana is able to connect, however, I am not.

If there are issues with lag still after this move, we will make another move in 30 days. We're trying to find a host that will accomodate all of our users across the world -- considering there are players from Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, North America, and South America.
