[05.05.2010] Server and Client Updates

Post by Koma »

As of the 5th of May in 2010, we are now utilizing eAthena Revision 14293. For precise core changes, click the eAthena link. It's recommended to check the eAthena ChangeLog since it may include information that is not listed here.

Bug Fixes:
  • Death Guidance - As reported by Roy Revant, Tendrilion was not dropping Death Guidance[2]. This has been inserted in at a 1% base drop -- meaning 10% on Fleece.
  • Whikebain's Ears - As reported by Hazel, the Whikebain's Ears, which were a prize during a KafraNapping event awhile back, were giving -50 DEF instead of -50% DEF. This is now fixed.
  • Cancel Option? - The option in the Hat Dude which said "Cancel" has been changed to "No" to make more sense. Eat it, Aoi.
  • eAthena Updates - These updates include further fixes to the Guild Relay quest, official implementation of a few newer maps in the back-end, a correction to the Petite ASPD pet bonus, and so forth.
Other Updates:
  • Weekly Bonus Gift Drop - For this week, the latest collectible hat is the Ramen Hat[0]! Remember, you can message "NPC:GiftDrop" the text "INFO!" and it will tell you what the current Gift Drop is too!
  • Hat Dude - This guy now offers the Hunter Cap[1] as a quested headgear.
  • Hat Dude Preview - We have also enhanced the Hat Dude to give players a preview of the headgears that are available. This option is available after selecting the headgear and before creation.
  • PCRE Support - This is now enabled server-side so we can support those magically created scripts which utilize it. Magically.
  • Guess The Monster - This automated event has been implemented and originally designed by Spera (with our tweaks).
    • This event triggers EVERY 4 hours starting from 02:30.
    • Broadcasts are made and it provides a THREE minute window for joining before it closes up and doesn't accept any more players.
    • The NPC basically disguises itself and you need to guess which monster it has turned into.
    • Note that the name could be a different version as it pulls all names from the database (@mobinfo may help here).
    • It cycles THREE rounds each time.
    • The reward is a usable box which opens to provide a random new synthesizable hat to the winner.
    • It is specifically set to not trigger during WoE hours as well for those concerned.
    • Yes, this is the start of the implementation of the rotating events system.
