Care to explain what that has anything to do with whatever I posted, and prove that I worth the prize?

On topic:
Half-baked censorship: Client side only, so easy to bypass. Ya, right, like that mean we can fire support gmes.
Full-baked censorship: Involving slowing everything else, since processing text take time too. Why'd everyone have to suffer because of an issue that involve a minute minority, and technically such issue isnt a part of gameplay.

Also whatever you censor, people would just come up with something else to mean the same instead of actually move to an another scale of formality and use it. Compare:

Innocent Child: Mommy, what does "fuck" mean? These people are doing it alot.
Experienced Mom: Oh, "fuck" mean blah blah. But in this context, it's a rude, vulgar insult. Dont use it, kay?

--- and ---

Innocent Child: Mommy, what does foka mean?
Experienced Mom: It's Swedish for fuck, which mean blah blah.

In short, just ban them. GMs get to use their stick. Experienced Moms dont have to buy dictionaries of over 13 languages.

Is this topic still going on?

All we were simply saying was: don't do it. Rule #1 is there for a reason (and to lesser extents, the Spam rules and Stupidity rules). If we need to get involved and moderate, we will. We do not want to have to implement a filter either just because the level of maturity has dropped so far. I would have expected this topic to have already been settled from the first few responses, but it's surprising that players would go directly against what has already been outlined. "By registering, you agree to all Amistr Rules listed on our Rules pages." afterall.

For those offended by some language or words, please be reasonable as well and use proper judgment. We're not here to tell players what's right or wrong either afterall.

We trust that players can moderate themselves and represent themselves to their fullest as mature people. It has nothing to do with players that are disliked or liked. Players have also been politely "asked" to stop -- by fellow players even -- which should be enough right there.

The questions are plain and simple:
  • Would you cuss at a visitor to your park if you want your park to grow? This would make a large number walk away.
  • Would you do so publicly? This could get you arrested for disturbing the peace.
  • Would you do anything you know willingly would offend someone? Same as the previous, you'd possibly get a lawsuit.
  • If you walked into a store and they told you to leave, would you feel welcome? Discrimination charges and such would come into play here for the store owner.
  • Do you believe you'd get away with such language on any other game (not an RO private server) on a public venue -- not whispers or guild chats (where we also don't moderate)? They'd ban you quite immediately. I've been down this road before as well.
Players are in control here at making this server a respectable place to be -- hence why we do not go to further extents usually. This topic has been dragged out as far as it needs to be and as needless as it was. It is now closed.

EDIT: Since some players want proof that they'd get banned in any other game.. abusers should consider themselves very lucky that we mute and warn to begin with:
