[09.02.2009] Server and Client Updates

As of the 2nd of September in 2009, we are now utilizing eAthena Revision 14035. For precise core changes, click the eAthena link and view the ChangeLog.txt. It's recommended to check the eAthena ChangeLog since it may include information that is not listed here.

Bug Fixes:
  • Disappearing Mail - One player experienced an issue with losing an item in mail due to being overweight. eAthena has fixed this bug.
  • Endless Tower - Due to constant changes between the Endless Tower script and eAthena causing a desynch in compatibility, they are now properly in synch and should be working fully at this point.
  • War of Emperium Castles - For awhile, the castles were actually open with monsters and Emperium spawned. This was quickly corrected when it was noticed. We have reviewed the logs to make certain that this oversight was not abused.
  • Kafra Voting Staff In Old Payon - The script duplication for this and Payon's flags have been corrected. Although it is rarely used, it was something flagged for correction.
  • PvP Morocc - This map has its proper PvP mapflags now implemented. This was overlooked when we first opened originally.
  • Event Map Mapflags - For the maps that are used for events, we have re-configured them to prevent memo'ing, teleport, and so forth before they're abused.
Client Changes:
  • New Client - Please update your installs via the new Small Client installer or via the Patcher. We have updated the client to support an array of new updates and feature requests.
  • Window Snapping - /window is now enabled by default when running the client. This should help some players that really dislike the overlapping of windows. This is a requested implementation.
  • No Return To Town Menu On Death - This no longer pops up immediately, but requires an ESC or ALT+X to open. This helps players quickly accept Resurrections and get back in the actions sooner.
  • Indoor Zoom Range - This was another requested update and allows players to zoom out while indoors. This may have had some adverse effects on some maps, so please let us know if this is the case.
  • Skill Buff Timers - These are now enabled due to the new client supporting these packets.
  • Skill Delay "Feet" - These now show up during the delay during skill usage.
  • New Trade Window - Although I'm sure a few people will dislike this change, since we are moving forward with updates, this had to happen. The larger trade window is now implemented.
  • Client Bug Fixes - Issues with skills not changing levels or pets making skills disappear should now be corrected with this update.
  • Client Description Updates (Delayed) - These should be coming within the week. A few new maps were implemented in the RO world and a lot of our skills and item descriptions are currently outdated -- we are working to correct this shortly.
Other Updates:
  • Mobs No Longer Level-Up - We have adjusted this old flag from Crescendo. Monsters now will no longer level up upon killing players.
  • Skills In Town - Prontera is now the only town that blocks non-supportive skills. All other towns are no longer restricted by our skill blocks -- but however may still have their normal restrictions.
  • Saving in Niflheim - It is now possible to save via the indoor Kafra (the one next to the Healer and Warper) in the town of Niflheim.
  • Item Merchie Prices - After much discussion and pushing from players on the server, we have removed the "convenience fee" from all NPC available items. Red/Yellow Gemstones are now priced as if you had to buy the Blue Gemstones to convert them, and Grape Juice was bumped up as well.
  • Duel Timer Restriction - The one minute delay between @duels has been removed.
  • Break Fall In Towns With Skill Restrictions - This skill has been removed from the block list.
  • Old Morocc As Dead Branch Arena - For now, until we've made it around to implementing a true Dead Branch Arena, the map of Old Morocc is being used for this purpose. It is accessible via the Warper NPC.
  • War Of Emperium Configured - Considering that we're moving faster and faster to the start of WoE, the scripts have been modified and enabled to support the correct castles at the proper times.
  • Rough Elu/Ori Purifier - As mentioned in the previous update, this has been implemented.
  • Safe Upgrade NPC (Delayed) - This is on its way. Due to the War of Emperium taking priority, resources had to be shifted away from implementing this this week. It may be implemented before the next update though.
