[10.28.2009] Server and Client Updates

As of the 28th of October in 2009, we are now utilizing eAthena Revision 14107. For precise core changes, click the eAthena link and view the ChangeLog.txt. It's recommended to check the eAthena ChangeLog since it may include information that is not listed here.

Bug Fixes:
  • Krieger Von Midgard - It seems like every update the past few weeks has this one way or another. We have reached a point where most bugs have been ironed out and this is now implemented with full rewards. This includes the start flaws, message notifications, and backend handling.
  • Experience Gain w/ NPCs - There was a bug preventing new players from gaining experience from the starter NPC (and others). If a player didn't move immediately upon spawn, the experience gain was nullified. Now, players gain experience properly with NPCs.
  • eAthena Updates
    1. The Episode 12+ Socket Enchant NPC has been implemented. This comes with a clean-up of the old Socket Enchant NPC.
    2. The slotted Hat Of Sun God is now implemented for the new Socket Enchant NPC.
    3. Many monsters that should be using the skills "Vampire Gift" and "Wide Soul Drain" now do. This includes many of the Cursed Abbey and Satan Morocc monsters.
    4. The Hunter/Sniper skill "Land Mine" now has a fixed splash range. This was a bug reported on our server by Andrue as well and a good catch.
    5. Preparations for Sealed Shrine and the Orc's Memory instance are underway.
Client Updates:
  • Autumn Prontera - In our ramp-up towards Halloween, Autumn Prontera is now implemented. Halloween is comiiiiiiing.
  • Translation Updates - We have brought all item descriptions up to a more recent revision to include all of the Episode 13 and above changes. This should eliminate a majority of the "Unknown Item" issues completely.
  • Loading Screens - As promised, the loading screens from the event are now implemented.
  • Rephikul's Palette - After not having been inserted as a patch for quite some time, this is now available at dye #554.
  • New Hats - The preliminary files have now been distributed. These will make it into the game in time. If you try to use them on Wool, be warned that you may have to reset your characters via the Control Panel to recover Wool access until these are fully implemented.
  • Fog Tables - The fog tables for some of the newer maps have been fixed.
  • Newer Renewal Client Files - While they aren't actually used at the moment, we are also in the process of bringing us up to speed with the Renewal files as well.
  • Missing Wedding Sprite - This was causing a few players to crash at Saint Capitolina Abbey, but is now fixed.
  • Skill Description Updates - These are coming. The only delay is that since we use iRO skill names for the majority of our skills, finding a proper, up-to-date file is harder. Instead, we'll be re-working our own.
Other Updates:
  • Weekly Bonus Gift Drop - For this week, we are extending the chances of getting Ramen Hat. This is in preparation for the new hats coming in the next coming weeks which will be used for this purpose and also to give more focus to the Halloween events.
  • Mercenary Leveling - The rate for mercenary loyalty has been configured to 10x. Now, for every 50 monsters killed, a mercenary will gain 10 loyalty points instead of 1.
  • Kafra Napping - We have optimized this event to prepare it for automation purposes and make it easier to swap in and out. Right now, focus is on creating more automated events and this is one step of the way.
