First of all, know that I am new here (so I'm very new to the hat synthesizer)

Ever since I found this npc, I have wondered how it works.
What is meant when it says "custom headgear".

Does that mean: event hats, donation hats, quest hats, or the ones made through the hat dude?

-Any- custom headgear that's top is mixable with statted headgear. Eventually if possible, they've considered making mid/lower doable as well.

So event and donation hats are indeed mixable, as are the hats made by the Hat Dude.

However, you can't for example, mix a statted hat with a statted hat or something absurd like that.

Pure example: my Black Noble Hat and a regular +8 Feather Beret, I can merge. Now my Black Noble Hat has 9 defense and 10% demi-human reduction.
