That one would have been something that has been accepted in C&S: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=650. However, it hasn't been developed yet due to considerations for an efficient method of pulling it off. From a typical scripter standpoint, it's just a simple getitem/delitem script, but the sheer number of hats involved is where the bulk of the work is -- or we could just integrate it into the Hat Dude which solves this format quite well..

I'm down with a statless version of the hat once it's synthesized. Chances are when you synthesize, it's for the look, not for the stats. Which is why you're synthesizing in the first place. LOL

Trading in the official headgears for a statless, synthable version is approved.
Trading one for another color is also approved (as it was long ago).

The only drawbacks to the approvals are the upgrades will not be carried over or any items slotted in and no slots for the non-synthed. They essentially become a "custom equivalent" similar to what you already see from the 30k series headgears.
