This issue is approached several different ways by servers all over. Here are the options that are usually consider first and foremost..
- 1. ) Remove the ability to break Dead Branches on all dungeon maps. Field maps can be excluded since they are usually less populated and there's less of a chance people will be trying to actively level there.
2. ) Remove the death experience loss from Izlude and make it a FFA dead branching town. This will encourage groups that normally wouldn't share, to do such. Or even open up the possibility for player run events.
3. ) Implement Dead Branch rooms. Only allow the breaking of Dead Branches in these rooms.

To be quite honest, I think that the third is really a waste of time. Every set of Dead Branch rooms I've seen on servers that you can rent for a certain rate / password protect are incredibly small and buggy.
However, I have seen the first two options combined together on several servers and it usually ends up working very well.
