[11.11.2009] Server and Client Updates

As of the 11th of November in 2009, we are now utilizing eAthena Revision 14141. For precise core changes, click the eAthena link and view the ChangeLog.txt. It's recommended to check the eAthena ChangeLog since it may include information that is not listed here.

Bug Fixes:
  • Krieger Von Midgard Rewards - Originally, we were using the 3 medal rewards from the base script that we had used. It should have been 5 medal rewards for a winner, and this has since been modified to reflect this change. Medal redemption will come shortly.
  • War Of Emperium: First Edition Treasures - As an eAthena update this week, a mistake was found in the treasure spawning loop. It was allowing more treasures to be spawned than should have been spawned.
  • Purifier NPC Zeny Exploit - There was a minor exploit possible in the identifier portion of this script. Of course, this couldn't really be abused since eAthena had already blocked off the negative zeny hole, but this is now fully fixed.
  • Character Stat Reset Bug - The price of stat resets were not incrementing since the script was pulling from the skill reset count variable. If you were *only* using a stat reset, you may have noticed this. This primarily affected new players and is now corrected.
  • WoE:SE Login Message - The login message detailing which castle was open and that WoE:SE was active was originally pulling from the FE variable. This is now using the SE variable properly.
  • Character Renaming Hole - Due to the way that eAthena implemented the client-side character rename packet, the server had a major issue which allowed players to have one free character rename. eAthena originally had handling set to have a rename flag set to 1 to disable this function, which we worked around, but then eA later revised this to 0 -- which was only partially worked around -- and new characters were automatically generated with 1 as a default value. We have fixed this SQL-side.
  • Additional Note - As an additional note, all above bugs have been checked for usage and adjusted where necessary (ie: name changes reverted).
Client Updates:
  • Event Loading Screens - We have located the source of the missing loading screens and these will be adjusted shortly.
Other Updates:
  • Weekly Bonus Gift Drop - For this week, the latest collectible hat is Torch Hat!
  • War Of Emperium Monthly Castle Rotation - As previously announced, this month's WoE castles have been updated.
  • King Of The Hill - The King/Queen now has an increased size to make them more easily noticed and visible to players of this minigame. This is a change as a result of the issues experienced during the first event using this.
  • New Custom Hats Synthable - We have added the synthesized placeholder duplicates to the database so they are now available via the Synthesizer.
  • Upcoming Scripts - Various scripts are still planned for the server. These include the overhauling of the Item Merchie, 1:1 modifications to the Synthesizer, dual-build Resets, headgear palette swapping, aura disabling (possibly), and event scripts such as "MVP Fishing", PVP/GVG Rankings (when we can outline a full specification for this), "Invasion Firefight", and "Tower Defense". More details will appear as each nears completion.
