Adoption itself has worked just fine for me. However, according to http://irowiki.org/wiki/Adoption" TARGET="_blank, you are supposed to be able to share experience with your baby regardless of the level range as long as the parents are levels 70+. I have done everything from kicking all members of the party besides the baby and parents, to changing around party leader, and nothing I did could get this feature to work.
Plus, after getting married, our wedding rings didn't have names on them, and the skill Romantic Rendezvous (skill ID #336) displays gibberish characters when the character shouts the skill name after casting.
Marriage and Adoption
Re: Marriage and Adoption
K, that's what I have expirienced:
The baby can ONLY share with it's parents. Not sure if the parents have to be in range, I always thought they have to.
Noone else can be in party.
You will also have to make a new party, invite the baby and the other parent and set it to share. Then it should be working. Otherwise share wouldn't work for me.

Re: Marriage and Adoption
You are my hero. (: I got it to work! Yay! <3
It seems that exp is set back to "each take" if anyone relogs, though, making it necessary to then disband and recreate the party. It would be nice if this could be changed possibly.

Re: Marriage and Adoption
Looking at this bug, I'm going to emphasize one note that some players may overlook that we looked into the other day.
In regards to this line on iROWiki: "Adopted characters cannot increase a stat past 80 base (tip: if a character has a stat over 80 base prior to being adopted, it will stay as such - although it cannot be raised any further once adopted)." -- if a player goes through this process of getting above 80 stat points for a novice prior to changing to a baby, they will keep those stats. There is a catch though: if you end up doing a stat reset, you will not be able to go above 80 again.
Now, back to the original bug about inviting and making a new party to do it. This is caused by the handling of families with parties. When a player creates a party, they are checked to be married and have an adopted character. This check is done on each player that is added to the party as well -- these are added to the party information server-side itself.
However, when a player leaves, relogs, or changes map, it seems that it sets it back to "Each Take" (// Even share check situations: Family state (always breaks)).
There should be no level restriction except that the parents be above or equal to level 70.
EDIT: Marking this as Resolved as this is an eAthena issue -- so is pretty much considered "By Design".
